Munich - Off the Ball,’s daily weekday feature, casts an eye over the weird, wonderful and sometimes controversial tales to have emerged from Germany's top flight in recent days.

Today, Jürgen Klopp meets his Doppelgänger, Bayer 04 Leverkusen's Gonzalo Castro prepares to meet his namesake, and we celebrate the birthday of one of Borussia Dortmund's injured stars.

Gonzalo Castro was in confident mood ahead of Bayer 04 Leverkusen's all-important Champions League tie against Real Sociedad de Futbol on Tuesday evening. Just to be clear, that's Leverkusen's Gonzalo Castro, not Sociedad's 29-year-old Uruguayan winger, who goes by the same name. Sami Hyypiä will be hoping it's his player who will be celebrating at the final whistle: Die Werkself need to better FC Shakhtar Donetsk's result against Manchester United FC to qualify for the last 16 of the competition.

Finally, would like to wish Borussia Dortmund defender a very happy birthday. The Serbian centre-back, who is out for the season with a knee injury, is 25 on Tuesday. Though he won't be able to take part himself, a Borussia Dortmund win against Olympique Marseille on Wednesday evening would surely be the perfect (belated) birthday gift. Would it not, Neven?
