Mönchengladbach - Following Borussia Mönchengladbach's 1-0 win over SC Freiburg on Sunday evening, Gladbach's players seemed confident of extending their recent purple patch against FC Schalke 04 on Matchday 15. Mike Hanke, meanwhile, felt the Foals were simply too strong for the visitors.
bundesliga.com rounds up what the players had to say after the final whistle...
Max Kruse: Lucien Favre has a lot in common with Christian Streich – they both value tactical discipline and I think that’s been a feature of our game this season. We’ve managed to get the three points five times in a row and we want to continue that run next weekend.
Patrick Herrmann: We have the ability to beat anyone at home. We’ve played very well up to now and if we manage to maintain that level of performance, it’ll be very difficult for Schalke.
Mike Hanke: We played aggressively, but Gladbach did extremely well. They’re very strong at home, very comfortable on the ball and they’ve got great players in attack. We coped well for the most part, but it wasn’t enough to take anything from the game.
