Moscow - FC Bayern München captain will miss the next two games after suffering a muscle injury in the Reds' 3-1 win at PFC CSKA Moskva in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.

Ever reliable

The Germany skipper left the pitch in the 26th minute at the Khimki Arena and was replaced by Thiago Alcantara moments later. An initial scan revealed tissue damage to his right thigh and after a return to Munich the club confirmed that the 30-year-old will miss Matchday 14's Bundesliga fixture against Eintracht Braunschweig as well as the DFB Cup game away to FC Augsburg next week.

Remarkably it was the first time in his Bayern career that Lahm had been withdrawn before half time.

Pep Guardiola’s men sealed the win after goals from Arjen Robben, Mario Götze and Thomas Müller helped the Bavarians set a new record by winning a tenth straight match in the competition stretching back into last season.
