bundesliga.com rounds up the post-match chatter from the SGL Arena...

Andre Hahn: It was hard today. We started well, but they had five at the back which stopped us getting some early momentum. For the first goal, it was an unbelievable pass which made my job much easier. We should have made it 3-0 instead of conceding - that's a fair criticism - but we won and picked up three points, which is most important.

Jan-Ingwer Callsen-Bracker: Finally we've ended the series of defeats, although it wasn't easy against a battling Mainz side. When they made it 2-1, we weren't thinking about the last few weeks, but focusing on what we needed to do today. We were excellent in the first-half, creating chances and generally moving the ball around well. There's room for improvement but we got three points against good opposition.

Halil Altintop: We're happy that the points are staying in Augsburg. With my chance, I could have put the game to bed, but as it was, the penalty made it closer than it perhaps should have been.

Sebastian Polter: We lost, there's not much else to say. We should have scored in the first half hour when we were playing well, and we could have defended better for the goals, but scoring the penalty gave us some hope. We can't dwell on it, let's focus on next week now.
