Munich - FC Bayern München centre-half Holger Badstuber has undergone a successful knee operation.

No decision on return

The 24-year-old defender underwent surgery on his anterior cruciate ligament in Colorado on Monday. Badstuber will remain in the USA for the next two days before returning to Munich and commencing a rehabilitation programme.

Badstuber has been out since damaging ligaments in December 2012 against Borussia Dortmund, before rupturing them again in May 2013. It is still unclear when he will return to training and first-team action with the quadruple-winners.

The Bavaria-born Badstuber has 30 caps for Germany and 101 appearances for Bayern since 2009.
