Frankfurt - The draw for Round 3 of the DFB Cup threw up some intriguing all-Bundesliga affairs, whilst handing the only third tier side left in the competition a blockbuster home encounter.

Dortmund and Wolfsburg with lower league tests

The third round which will be played on the 3rd and 4th December threw up three top-flight encounters as reigning champions FC Bayern München get set to make the short trip to neighbours FC Augsburg, whilst Bayer 04 Leverkusen host SC Freiburg and 1899 Hoffenheim travel to FC Schalke 04.

With ten Bundesliga sides left in the competition though, there are still opportunities for lower league sides to cause an upset. Borussia Dortmund travel to third division outfit 1. FC Saarbrücken, while Hamburger SV host an in-form 1. FC Köln in the pick of the remaining fixtures.

Germany head coach Joachim Löw who was on hand to make the draw, believes the next round of Germany's cup competition has plenty to offer. "The derby is obviously an intriguing encounter," said Löw in reference to Bayern's clash with Augsburg. "But Dortmund are a great draw for Saarbrücken. I'm personally delighted that SC Freiburg will be playing at home once again. They've had to play on the road a lot recently."
