bundesliga.com rounds up the thoughts of the game's key protagonists...
FC Bayern München
: We battled well today. Wolfsburg didn’t give us any room and it was certainly no walk in the park. They pretty much man-marked us across the whole pitch, which made life difficult for us. We're happy to have won, but it was a well-deserved victory. Apart from a couple of chances from set-pieces, Wolfsburg didn’t really threaten us. Our goal was very well worked and I’m delighted to have scored in the Bundesliga again.
: We were up against difficult opponents today, Wolfsburg played very well: they were well-organised and very disciplined. They covered a lot of ground and it was tough trying to get the opening goal. We just need to accept that sometimes we’re going to face sides with a lot of quality, who run a lot and are very aggressive. The Bundesliga’s one of the best leagues in the world, so that’s normal and it will happen again.
: I think they have a better team than us, but I still always come here to win. Today we had the chance to do that but we didn’t make the most of it and that was the difference [between the teams] today. I’m not satisfied with the result, but knowing we could have won the match makes it even harder.
: We did ok. It was a nice occasion, but my aim today was to take the three points back and unfortunately we didn’t do that. Other than that, it was good. We gave everything. I’d like to thank the Bayern fans and president. I had two and a half great years here and for them to say goodbye to me [with a bouquet of flowers prior to kick-off] was very nice.
: Normally you come here and you lose two, three or four-nil. Luiz [Gustavo] had a great chance to score but he didn’t put it in unfortunately. I think we played well today, we didn’t give them many chances and they’re a very strong side.
