Hamburg - Three points and a northern derby victory over Hamburger SV: it was certainly a Bundesliga debut to savour for Werder Bremen left-back on Saturday.

After the game, the 25-year-old Argentinian spoke to bundesliga.com about the importance of the win, life in the Bundesliga and with 1. FC Nürnberg.

bundesliga.com: Herr Garcia, congratulations on your winning debut. How do you feel?

Garcia: I'm over the moon, above all because we won the derby. We played really well in the first half, we were the better side and deserved to win.

bundesliga.com: Were you pleased with the performance?

Garcia: It was OK. We all a bit sloppy in the second half. We have to do a little better, but the main thing was to take the three points.

bundesliga.com: There must have been a lot of pressure on the team following three successive defeats.

Garcia: We're under pressure every game. Maybe even a little more so in the derby because the meeting’s such a big deal for all concerned. The win gives us the necessary level of self-confidence for the next game.

bundesliga.com: Had you already been told how important the game against Hamburger SV is?

Garcia: Yes, of course. This game is much more important for the fans and city than it is for the team. It's the same with the derbies in Argentina. I really, really enjoyed it.

bundesliga.com: What would you say the differences are between the German and South American or Italian game?

Garcia: Of course, the game is very different compared to South America or Italy, but all styles have their merits. So I wouldn't say one was better or worse than the other. I just want to settle in to the Bundesliga quickly. Hamburg was a good start.

bundesliga.com: So are we going to see you in the starting line-up in the next home game against Nürnberg?

Garcia: I'm not thinking about that. I'd like to enjoy my debut and celebrate the win with the team. We'll have too see what happens next week.
