Geneva - FC Bayern München chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge will remain chairman of the European Club Association (ECA) for a further two years.

"Safeguard European club football"

The 57-year-old, who has held the post since 2008, stands alone as the only candidate in Tuesday's elections in Genf.

One of Rummenigge’s main objectives as chairman of the ECA, which currently boasts 214 members, is "to safeguard the standing of European club football around the world."

Rummenigge has been chief executive at record champions Bayern since 2002.
