Gelsenkirchen - FC Schalke 04 will return to Qatar for their winter training camp this season.

Excellent past experiences

The Royal Blues have held camps in the Arab state during the past two winter breaks and were so impressed by the facilities, they have decided to return to the ASPIRE Academy for Sports Excellence in Doha this coming January.

"Outstanding pitches, optimum training conditions, the incredible hospitality of everyone there. After our excellent experiences in the past, it was always our intention to return to Qatar during the forthcoming winter break and we're delighted it's worked out," said sporting director Horst Heldt.

Schalke aren't the only Bundesliga side to have taken advantage of the outstanding facilities in Qatar in recent seasons. FC Bayern Munich also spent a week in Doha during the 2011/12 and 2012/13 campaigns.
