bundesliga.com rounds up the post-match views from both sides.

Kevin-Prince Boateng: I'm pleased to have picked up three points at home - the performance was good, we started well and showed our quality throughout. Obviously I'm happy with my own performance and the atmosphere in the stadium. I hadn't trained very much so it's a relief to settle in so easily. I'd been in touch with Schalke for a while - I had three great years with AC Milan but my aim now is to take things game by game, we've got to win in Mainz in a couple of weeks and that's all we're thinking about.

Julian Draxler: The team played at a fantastic and intense level throughout, and we had the outstanding Jefferson Farfan. We've definitely strengthened well, Boateng and Aogo made good debuts, they were fully involved.

Adam Szalai: I'm delighted to be able to celebrate my first home win in Schalke colours. Our two new arrivals [Boateng and Aogo] were excellent and showed their quality immediately.

Ömer Toprak: Obviously my handball to concede the free-kick which made it 1-0 was a mistake. Before that though, we couldn't impose our style of play on the game, we were too slow and Schalke stood up against us well. Conceding the first goal meant we had to chase the game.
