Mönchengladbach - Borussia Mönchengladbach goalscorer Patrick Herrmannwas a delighted to get on the scoresheet in the Foals' 4-1 against Werder Bremen, while Bremen's Nils Petersen preferred to focus on the positives.
bundesliga.com rounds up the protagonists's post-match reactions at Borussia Park:
Max Kruse: This win was crucial for us. In the first half we weren’t really in the game, but still took a deserved lead in with us at the break. Afterwards we played really well though, and after 90 minutes deserved to win by such a large margin. It’s a result we can certainly build upon. We worked really well, up front as well as at the back. You could even point out that we scored a fifth goal in the game (laughs). For me it was important to go into the international break with a good feeling, which was why it was so important to win.
Patrick Herrmann: My performance in the first half wasn’t my best, but I took upon myself during the break, to do better and that was what I did. Even though it became a close game again with the score line at 2-1, we definitely deserved to win today. We invested a lot in our game in the final third, created numerous goalscoring chances for ourselves and capitalised on four of them as well. The fact that I was able to score again of course makes me very happy - it was about time!
Zlatko Junuzovic: We made a lot of mistakes today, which we haven’t been making in recent matches. Nevertheless, we have to learn from this situation, because we’re definitely going to be confronted with similar problems throughout the campaign. If we can take the positives from this match with us right now, then we’ll deal with the next situation with a lot more finesse. Our next match is finally at home again. Against Frankfurt we want to get back to winning ways, after that nothing else matters.
Nils Petersen: We’ve known for a while that we don’t belong to be up there, where we’ve been in the table recently. It’s important not to forget that we didn’t deliver to outstanding performance in our opening matches. Nevertheless, we’re not going to take a pessimistic perspective on our start to the season, we collected six points, which was followed by two very difficult away matches.
