Frankfurt - In identical fashion to last season, FC Bayern Munich needed to dig deep to record a 1-0 win away at Eintracht Frankfurt on Matchday 2.

FC Bayern Munich

Bayern midfielder Toni Kroos felt Bayern dominated but were guilty of not putting the game to bed, and Manuel Neuer echoed his sentiments, highlighting the importance of the three points.

bundesliga.com rounds up the key protagonists' thoughts after the final whistle...

Manuel Neuer: We just wanted to win the game today. It wasn’t about playing pretty football, we just had to make sure we took three points and won our second match of the season. We managed to do that.

Toni Kroos: Everyone knows Frankfurt's a tricky place to come. They're a good side, but we dominated the game. We were probably guilty of not killing the game early, if we'd done that we could maybe have taken our foot of the gas. As it was, we had to work hard.

Pep Guardiola: We controlled the game a lot better in comparison to Gladbach last week, when we left ourselves open to counter-attacks quite often. Today that was better. It’s never easy after an international break and we only had three days. But we still managed to create a lot of chances and I’m 100 per cent satisfied.
