Dortmund - Borussia Dortmund have been rocked by news of an injury to summer signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The Armenia international faces around four weeks on the sidelines after suffering a partial tear to ligaments in his right ankle.

Ruled out

Mkhitaryan fell awkwardly in Tuesday's 4-1 friendly win against Swiss outfit FC Luzern and will now miss the Yellow-Blacks' DFB Supercup clash with FC Bayern Munich on 27 July as well as their first-round DFB Cup trip to SV Wilhelmshaven six days later.

Club doctor Dr. Markus Braun is hopeful the 24-year-old will be fit in time for Dortmund's first home game of the season against newcomers Eintracht Braunschweig on 18 August, however.
