Stuttgart - Bad news for VfB Stuttgart: new signing Marco Rojas faces weeks on the sidelines after being diagnosed with a broken metatarsal in his right foot.

The 21-year-old attacking talent from New Zealand picked up the injury in last week's 5-0 friendly win against a local Select XI in Crailsheim and VfB team doctor Raymond Best estimates he will not be able to take part in "football-specific training" for the next four to six weeks or perhaps even longer.

A further examination on Tuesday revealed that Rojas, 21, will be able to continue with swimming, cycling and weight training to maintain a reasonable basic fitness level. As it stands, however, he will unavailable to head coach Bruno Labbadia when the action gets underway in earnest in early August.
