Germany’s top flight will kick-off its 51st season in style with FC Bayern Munich hosting Borussia Mönchengladbach at the Allianz Arena on 9 August 2013, while FC Schalke 04 and Hamburger SV will close out the opening round of fixtures on Sunday evening.
As a result of the international matches due to take place on Wednesday, 14 August, there will be no Friday evening encounter on Matchday 2 of the campaign. Matchday 4, meanwhile, will also not have a match on Friday at 20:30 CET as a consequence of UEFA Champions League winners Bayern competing in the UEFA Super Cup (August 30, 2013 20:45 CET) against UEFA Europa League winners Chelsea FC. In due consideration, SC Freiburg’s match against Bayern will therefore take place on Tuesday, 27 August at 18:30 CET instead.
The exact fixture list for the following matchdays in the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 will be released during the opening week of September.
