Bielefeld - Newly-promoted Arminia Bielefeld have strengthened their midfield with the signing of Eintracht Braunschweig’s Oliver Petersch.

The 24-year-old, who only made eleven second-tier appearances, scoring once, last season after suffering a groin injury, has put pen to paper on a contract which will keep him at the club until 2014.

“Oliver was trained very well in the Bayer 04 Leverkusen reserves and boasts a lot of Bundesliga 2 experience, which he’ll bring with him to our club,” commented Samir Arabi, sporting director of Bielefeld. Petersch, meanwhile, is eagerly-anticipating the challenge ahead. “I’m delighted to be joining an intact team in the form of Arminia Bielefeld. I have already convinced by the atmosphere inside the SchücoArena during the derby against Preußen Münster. I’m raring to go in the new season.”
