Braunschweig - Eintracht Braunschweig are to warm up for their return to the Bundesliga after a 28-year absence by facing English Premier League side West Ham United in a pre-season friendly.

Illustrious guests

Braunschweig, one of the founding members of the Bundesliga, secured an unexpected promotion to the top tier of German football last month and preparations for that long-awaited return are underway.

The Hammers will provide strong opposition at the Eintracht-Stadion on 27 July (kick-off 15:30 CEST) with tickets going on sale at the end of June. “We’re looking forward to this sporting highlight against such a renowned English Premier League side just a fortnight before the start of the season,” said Braunschweig’s sporting director Marc Arnold.

“Of course we hope for vociferous support from our numerous fans during our first appearance in our own stadium.”
