Munich - Following a weekend that saw beer showers by the bucket load in the Bavarian capital, FC Schalke 04 stumble in the race four fourth and Werder Bremen secure their Bundesliga status for another year, we asked you to vote for Matchday 33's standout performer.

Top of the shots

As ever, six nominees comprised our post-weekend poll and the votes poured in from Bundesliga enthusiasts old and new, with one outright winner.

Schalke fans must be wincing at the mere mention of 's name, our winner this week with 62 per cent of the vote. The Bosnian scored twice in VfB Stuttgart's surprise 2-1 win at the Veltins Arena as the German Cup finalists made it a Royal Blue double for the first time since the 2008/09 campaign.

Ibisevic has now scored 15 times in the league this season, with a third of said haul coming against Schalke. His hat-trick on Matchday 16 will live long in the memory, but his display this time round was no less impressive and bumps the former Hoffenheim hotshot up to third in the leading scorers' chart.

Tied in second with eleven per cent each, we've got UEFA Champions League final foes Franck Ribery and Marco Reus. Bayern's French flier turned on the style against Augsburg, laying on two of the champions' three second-half goals at the Allianz Arena, while Dortmund's dynamo burst to life with two late strikes, which rescued a point against VfL Wolfsburg as BVB wrapped up second place.

Bayern vice-captain Bastian Schweinsteiger fell narrowly short of the silver-gilt with nine per cent of the poll, following a typically industrious shift in the centre of the park on Saturday. His lung-busting efforts were enough to hold off the challenge of Wolfsburg's two-goal hero Ivan Perisic (five per cent) and Werder Bremen's saviour this season, Kevin De Bruyne (one per cent).
