Braunschweig - Bundesliga newcomers Eintracht Braunschweig have strengthened their team ahead of their return to the top flight by completing the permanent signing of from Manchester City FC.

Perfect fit

The 21-year-old midfielder, who has Moroccan ancestry, has spent the second half of the season on loan at the Bundesliga 2 side, appearing 12 times and setting up four goals.

The powers that be were suitably impressed to hand him full-time deal, lasting until 2015. “We had negotiated a contract like this last winter and it was soon clear to us that we wanted to take the option to sign him permanently,” said Eintracht’s sporting director Marc Arnold. “We were convinced very early on that Omar could help us. Furthermore, he has a super attitude and fits into our team 100 per cent.”

Elabdellaoui, who also played for Dutch top division side Feyenoord before joining Braunschweig, expressed his excitement at making the move to Lower Saxony a permanent one: “I’m delighted the club took this option. Even though I've not been here very long, I feel at home in Braunschweig and have really been made to feel welcome. It’s great that I can be an Eintracht player for the next two years."
