Fürth - Greuther Fürth have appointed Frank Kramer as their new head coach. The 40-year-old has signed a deal lasting until 2015 and succeeds former boss Mike Büskens, who was dismissed three weeks ago.

Ludwig Preis, who had been in charge of first team affairs in the interim, will continue to support Kramer as assistant coach until the end of the season.

Kramer played for the Fürth reserve team between 2003 and 2005 and coached the club's Under-23 and U-19 sides from 2004 until 2011. His most recent post came as U-23 coach at 1899 Hoffenheim, where he also took charge of two Bundesliga matches following the sacking of Markus Babbel.

Fürth currently sit bottom of the Bundesliga table, 14 points adrift of safety.
