Gelsenkirchen - It wasn't all smiles for FC Schalke 04 following their derby win over Dortmund and news of Benedikt Höwedes' contract extension.

Star striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, who looked to have rediscovered his goalscoring form in recent weeks, had to be helped off the pitch in the 54th minute on Saturday, and must now take a week's rest from the game.

A week out

"We wish 'Hunter' all the best", said the Royal Blues' captain Höwedes. "We hope he'll be available again soon." The Dutchman will not need an operation to repair the damage, but will in any case miss Schalke's UEFA Champions league encounter with Galatasaray on Tuesday night.
