Frankfurt - Borussia Mönchengladbach will be flying the flag for the Bundesliga in Dubai this winter when they take part in a training camp to promote German football in and around the Emirate state.

Warming up

The Foals will stage a training camp in Dubai from 4 -12 January 2013 as part of a long-term international marketing campaign by the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga and Dubai Sports Channel. The broadcaster will show two friendly matches live, which will be screened in 23 nations in the Middle East and Northern Africa. The exact times and opponents for these fixtures have not yet been confirmed.

Lucien Favre’s side will warm up for the second half of the Bundesliga season over the space of nine days, during which they will also promote the Bundesliga in the region with a range of different initiatives.

Clubs have acted as Bundesliga ambassadors since 2007, organising training camps and friendly matches abroad. Gladbach become the latest side to do so, following on from SV Werder Bremen, Hamburger SV and FC Bayern Munich.

DFL Sports Enterprises, which is responsible for the international marketing of the Bundesliga, is working in conjunction with the sportsman media group, who acted on behalf of the Dubai Sports Channel.
