Dortmund - Borussia Dortmund have succesfully concluded negotiations with Lukasz Piszczek, who has put pen to paper on a new deal which will keep him at the club until 30 June 2017.

Piszczek: "Embedded in the culture"

"In the long run we've tied down a defensive specialist, who's known all over Europe and has played a significant part in Dortmund's success in recent years," said Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc. "We firmly believe that Lukasz will contribute even more as a player and as a personality to us fulfilling our goals."

Piszczek has made 140 appearances (eight goals) in the Bundesliga and is already a firm fixture in the Polish national team, playing in last week's 1-1 FIFA World Cup qualifying draw against England.

"I've spent two years in Dortmund, during which time I've become firmly embedded in the football culture, the club and the Borussia Dortmund fans," said Piszczek upon the announcement of the deal. "It's a great honour and duty for me to spend the coming years at this extraordinary club and to be able to play in this extraordinary team.".
