Frankfurt/Main - Logistics service provider Hermes will be an official premium partner of the Bundesliga as of 1 January 2013.

Players in both the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 will wear the company's logo on their left sleeve for each league game throughout the second half of the 2012/13 campaign.

Furthermore, Hermes will, among other duties, undertake the task of transporting the Bundesliga plate and ensure its presentation to the title winners on the final day of the season. A Trophy Tour through Germany's largest cities has also been arranged, enabling fans to see the original plate up close, as presented by the league's new partners.

The contract, agreed on behalf of the League Association by the German Football League's (DFL) 100 per cent subsidiary DFL Sports Enterprises, will run until the end of the 2016/17 season. Financial details pertaining to the deal have not been disclosed.

"This premium partnership with Hermes serves once again to underline the value of the Bundesliga as an important advertising platform," said Jörg Daubitzer, chief executive of DFL Sports Enterprises. "Hermes fits in perfectly alongside our existing premium partners."

"Due to its popularity, the Bundesliga is the ideal advertising platform to bring the Hermes brand and its integrated services, private and business-orientated, closer to our clients," added Frank Iden, member of the executive board for Hermes Europe. "This premium sponsorship offers us a variety of attractive and publicly-engaging possibilities. For this reason we are very much looking forward to our future co-operation."
