Simon Terodde scored a hat-trick as VfL Bochum 1848 ended their campaign with a comfortable 4-2 win away to 1. FC Heidenheim 1846.
Terodde set the tone by finding the net inside the opening minute, but the visitors had to wait until early in the second half to extend their lead when Terodde turned provider for Marco Terrazino.
After adding his second, Terodde made up for his two penalty misses in last weekend's defeat to Eintracht Braunschweig to give Bochum a 4-0 lead from the spot, before a consolatory brace from Heidenheim's Smail Morabit gave the scoreline a shade of respectability.
Terodde finishes the season as Bundesliga 2 top scorer on 25 goals.
