MSV Duisburg picked up a crucial win in the relegation battle on Matchday 30 courtesy of a dramatic 2-1 triumph over TSV 1860 Munich.
After a tepid first-half with chances to open the scoring few and far between, proceedings burst into life when Michael Liendl gave the visitors the lead with a wonderful effort from distance 19 minutes into the second period.
The opener was the catalyst for Duisburg to produce a fine comeback, with Thomas Bröker poking home from close-range in the 73rd minute. 1860 full-back Milos Degenek was sent for an early bath soon afterwards, before Victor Obinna powered home following a goalmouth scramble to seal three crucial points for Ilia Gruev’s side.
Both clubs remain in the relegation zone, although Duisburg’s second win in succession lifts them to 25 points - level with 1860.
