The game had an end-of-season feel to proceedings in the first half, with neither team able to create much in the way of chances. Things opened up in the second period, however, and after Julian Börner headed wide at one end, Kacper Przybylko was left unmarked at the back post to nod home Ruben Jenssen's cross at the other. The Red Devils then saw out the result in relative comfort to move above SV Sandhausen into 11th and leave Bielefeld in 13th, seven points above the relegation play-off spot with four games left to play.
