FSV Frankfurt 1899 are not safe yet after falling to a crushing 4-1 defeat away to VfL Bochum 1848.
Frankfurt got off to a dream start when Dani Schahin fired into the bottom corner after three minutes, but it proved a false dawn as Bochum swiftly took the game back by the scruff of its neck. Simon Terodde had chances, before teeing up Onur Bulut for a long-in-coming equaliser.
Terodde headed home from close range late in the first half, and from thereon in there was only going to be one winner. Forty second-half minutes separated further goals from Thomas Eisfeld and Patrick Fabian in a defeat that leaves Frankfurt just four points clear of the relegation zone with five rounds of fixtures remaining.
