After two defeats in their last three games, RB Leipzig had to get back to winning ways to keep their promotion rivals at bay. Leipzig struggled to find a way past a stubborn Bochum defence in the first half but finally made the breakthrough shortly after the restart.
Dominik Kaiser reacted quickest after Massimo Bruno’s shot was was blocked to hammer home the opener. Just three minutes later, Bruno did get on the scoresheet with a fine shot into the far left corner following Emil Forsberg’s through ball.
Leipzig were in rampant mood by now and Bruno doubled his tally shortly after to put the game to bed. After Forsberg’s shot crashed off the bar, Bruno deflected the follow-up into the net.
The home side were cruising from there on in and Anthony Losilla’s late strike for Bochum proved little more than a consolation.
