SC Paderborn 07's bid to beat the drop suffered another blow on Matchday 28 as they let a one-goal lead slip in a 2-1 loss to Eintracht Braunschweig.
Goals: 0-1 Stoppelkamp (2'), 1-1 Holtmann (29'), 2-1 Hochscheidt (32')
The visitors got off to the perfect start when Moritz Stoppelkamp swept home Süleyman Koc's pull back with just two minutes on the clock. Paderborn were good value for their lead, but a quickfire double either side of the half-hour mark courtesy of Gerrit Holtmann and Jan Hochscheidt saw Braunschweig take control of the encounter.
Little changed in that respect after the restart, though neither side had the necessary quality to suggest they could alter the scoreline. Goalscorer Stoppelkamp came closest to rescuing a share of the spoils for relegation-threatened Paderborn, but in the end the visitors could not muster up enough to avoid defeat, leaving them entrenched in the bottom two.
