1. FC Heidenheim 1846 cemented their place in the top half of the table with a come-from-behind 2-2 draw at home to struggling FSV Frankfurt 1899 on Friday evening.
The teams lined up with matching 4-4-2 formations and cancelled each other out for the opening 22 minutes before Taiwo Awoniyi reacted quickly in the home box to turn home his first ever professional goal. Barde Finne had a pair of chances to restore parity but he fired both off-target and FSV took a 1-0 lead into the interval.
Tomas Oral's men looked on course to avenge October's 4-0 defeat in the reverse fixture after Fanol Perdedaj dipped his shoulder and crashed his third goal of the season into the top corner of Jan Zimmermann's goal. The hosts had other ideas, though, with Denis Thomalla reducing the arrears late on before Ben Halloran steered home a goal worthy of any share of the points as it ended 2-2 in Baden-Württemberg.
