Bottom club MSV Duisburg picked up three precious points in their bid to beat the drop thanks to a 2-1 win over 1. FC Union Berlin.
Union created the better chances, but had to wait until the 61st minute to be rewarded for their dominance. Duisburg defender Rolf Fletcher brought down Union midfielder Christopher Quiring in the box, with USMNT international Bobby Wood dispatching the ensuing penalty kick to put the visitors ahead.
The goal spurred Duisburg into action, however, as Stanislav Iljutcenko put away an acrobatic equaliser four minutes later. Nico Klotz completed an unlikely comeback soon after to lift the ailing Zebras to within six points of safety.
