TSV 1860 Munich climbed out of the automatic relegation places with a 3-2 home victory over Fortuna Düsseldorf.

TSV 1860 Munich 3–2 Fortuna Düsseldorf

1860 wasted several chances early on as they pushed hard to secure a rare home win. It was not until the half-hour mark that they finally managed to break the Düsseldorf defences, however, Kai Bülow's header giving the Lions a 1-0 lead. The goal reinvigorated Düsseldorf, but the visitors were unable to grab an equaliser before half time.

Things got worse for the visitors just after the interval as Sascha Mölders broke free to slot in his side's second goal with his left foot. The game was far from over, though: in the space of ten minutes, goals from Lukas Schmitz and Ihlas Bebou had brought Düsseldorf back on level terms, and appeared to compound 1860's home misery this season. They were granted a lifeline with ten minutes to play, however, when Mölders was brought down in the area and former Düsseldorf player Michael Liendl converted the penalty to give 1860 the points.
