Simon Terodde's late penalty helped VfL Bochum to a 3-2 win over SV Sandhausen.
VfL Bochum 3-2 SV Sandhausen
Bochum started the game confidently and were rewarded after ten minutes, as former Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal FC man Thomas Eisfeld put them ahead with a fine finish. The lead was doubled just 11 minutes later, Onur Bulut setting Terodde free with a superb through ball for the striker to rifle in under the crossbar. With Sandhausen's defence struggling to gain any foothold in the game, Bochum continued to dominate until half time.
So it remained until the 64th minute, when Dominik Stolz smashed in a delightful shot from the edge of the area to make it 2-1. From nothing, Sandhausen had forced themselves back into the game and they duly restored parity when Aziz Bouhaddouz poked home on 72 minutes. Bochum had the last laugh, however, as Terodde slotted in from the penalty spot after being fouled in the box.
