1. FC Nürnberg moved to within one point of second place on Monday evening after drawing 1-1 at home to VfL Bochum.

1. FC Nürnberg 1-1 VfL Bochum

With both teams eyeing promotion, there was a six-pointer feel about this match and as such the first half was a cautious affair. Tactical discipline ruled supreme and while Nürnberg enjoyed more possession, there was little goalmouth action to speak of.

The game gradually opened up as the second half wore on, and Bochum took the lead through an excellent goal from Marco Terrazzino on 66 minutes following a neat one-two with Simon Terodde on the edge of the box. The hosts fought back, however, and equalised shortly afterwards when Patrick Erras headed in a Sebastian Kerk corner. Both sides pushed for a winner in an end-to-end finale, but neither could finish a number of promising chances, leaving Nürnberg five points ahead of their visitors.
