SpVgg Greuther Fürth pulled further away from the relegation zone on Friday night with a 2-1 victory away to FSV Frankfurt.

Sebastian Freis was the thorn in Frankfurt's side in the first half with two goals for the Bavarians, while he found the back of the net a third time, although that effort was ruled out for offside.

Frankfurt responded, with Dani Schahin bringing them back into the game in the second half, but their late efforts went unrewarded as Fürth held on to move five points clear of their hosts.
