Eintracht Braunschweig pulled to within four points of the promotion places after winning past DSC Arminia Bielefeld 1-0 at the Eintracht-Stadion.
Eintracht Braunschweig 1 - 0 Arminia Bielefeld
Braunschweig left-back Ken Reichel got the hosts underway inside the first five minutes, picking up Gerrit Holtmann’s pass before steering his fifth goal of an already-prolific season into the far bottom corner.
Arminia Bielefeld switched from 4-5-1 to 4-4-2 for the final half-hour, with Andreas Voglsammer coming on in place of Christophe Hemline, but the former Heidenheim forward was unable to make a difference. Indeed, Reichel might have grabbed another goal late on but his long-range effort sailed over the crossbar. Braunschweig climb three places to fifth with the win, whilst Bielefeld drop one spot to 13th.
