Promotion hopefuls SV Sandhausen and Greuther Fürth played out a 1-1 draw at the Hardtwaldstadion on Friday evening.
Coming into the game off the back of a surprise 3-0 defeat to rock-bottom MSV Duisburg, Sandhausen were immediately forced on the back foot by their visitors and eventually fell behind just after the half-hour mark. Robert Zulj’s free-kick found Marco Stiepermann inside the area, who shook off Florian Hübner and directed a firm header past Marco Kneeler.
The hosts improved after the restart, though, and restored parity 11 minutes into the second half when Aziz Bouhaddouz slotted home from close range following a teasing cross by Marco Thiede. Ranislav Jovanovic nearly earned his team all three points in second-half stoppage time with a cheeky back-heel, but Sebastian Mielitz was equal to it.
