FSV Frankfurt 1899 picked up three pivotal points in their battle to beat the drop following a surprise 3-1 win against fourth-placed FC St. Pauli.
FC St. Pauli 1-3 FSV Frankfurt
Goals: 1-0 Rzatkowski (10’), 1-1 Rolim (11’), 1-2 Schahin (32’), Sobiech O.G (53’)
Marc Rzatkowski had put the hosts in front with just ten minutes played in a packed out Millerntor-Stadion, but the lead lasted no time at all as a flowing Frankfurt move from kick-off ended with Yann Rolim levelling the scores.
Dani Schahin extended FSV’s lead just past the half-hour mark and there was no let up from the visitors after the restart as they added a third courtesy of a Lasse Sobiech own-goal and, were it not for the heroics of Robin Himmelmann, could have won by an even higher margin.
