Bundesliga 2 leaders RB Leipzig got their march towards promotion back on track courtesy of a convincing 3-0 win against 1. FC Union Berlin on Friday night.

RB Leipzig 3-0 Union Berlin

Goals: 1-0 Kaiser (13’), 2-0 Orban (25’), 3-0 Poulsen (52’)

The capital city side, who were unbeaten in four, fell behind inside the opening quarter of an hour when Dominik Kaiser converted Emil Forsberg’s cutback. Willi Orban then extended the hosts lead after getting on the end of Marvin Compper’s flick on shortly before the half-hour mark.

Union showed little signs of fighting back in the encounter and, when Youssef Poulsen put the finishing touches on a sensational cross from Marcel Sabitzer to add to Leipzig’s advantage in the 52nd minute, the game was put to bed as the hosts clinched a 14th win of the campaign.
