East Westphalian rivals DSC Arminia Bielefeld and SC Paderborn took a point each from Sunday's derby with a 1-1 draw.

DSC Arminia Bielefeld 1-1 SC Paderborn 07

Paderborn were seeking to end a nine-game winless streak and beat their local rivals for the first time in Bundesliga 2, and Süleyman Koc wasted a good chance to put them in front within two minutes. Their strong first-half performance was rewarded when Nicklas Helenius gave them the lead from close range.

Bielefeld came out fighting in the second half, however, and Christopher Nöthe brought them level with a fine goal on the hour mark. Fabian Klos could have put the hosts in front with a header, but Daniel Heuer Fernandes thwarted him to preserve a point for Paderborn.
