MSV Duisburg picked up their first point on foreign soil in the 2015/16 campaign after coming from behind to play out a 1-1 draw with Fortuna Düsseldorf.
Frank Kramer’s men enjoyed the better of the play throughout the first-half, but were regularly thwarted by Duisburg goalkeeper Michael Ratajczak, who did well to twice deny Kerim Demirbay in the opening half an hour. There was little relief for the visitors, who could count themselves luck to go in level at the break after Karim Haggui headed over on the stroke of half-time.
There was little change to proceedings after the break with Fortuna struggling to convert their chances, while Duisburg grew in confidence the longer the encounter remained goalless. That all changed, however, when Demirbay bundled his way into the box to slide the ball under Ratajczak for the opener 15 minutes from time. The hosts’ lead lasted all of two minutes though, as Steffen Bohl poked home from a flick on to secure Duisburg a point.
