Karlsruher SC took VfL Bochum down a notch with a 3-0 win at the Wildparkstadion.
Simon Terodde squandered a good opportunity to give Bochum the lead in a tight opening 20 minutes, and the visitors rarely had a look-in after that. After Dimitris Diamantakos rose high to head in Manuel Torres' cross, Bochum could count themselves somewhat lucky still to be only one goal behind at the break.
The long-overdue second goal for the hosts arrived just two minutes into the second half with Diamantakos' shot rebounding back off the post for Hiroki Yamada to tuck in from close range. Bochum were able to muster a reaction of sorts, but they found their hosts reluctant to relinquish their advantage or their reward, and they even added a third through Boubacar Barry with Diamantakos again the provider in an emphatic win.
