Leipzig - RB Leipzig moved into the automatic promotion places following a 2-1 win over Fortuna Düsseldorf on Matchday 12.
Leipzig did all the running in a one-sided first half, with Emil Forsberg going close and Willi Orban's goal-bound header cleared off the line by Fortuna forward Joel Pohjanpalo. The home side got the breakthrough their dominance deserved in first-half stoppage time, though, as Forsberg stuck away Lukas Klostermann's miscued clearance.
Fortuna struck the upright early in the second half through Pohjanpalo, but it was not long before Leipzig retook control of proceedings. Marcel Sabitzer made it two in the 64th minute and while Düsseldorf’s Karim Haggui managed to halve the deficit, Leipzig saw out the remainder with minimum fuss to extend their unbeaten Bundesliga 2 run to eight matches: a new club record.
