Braunschweig - 1. FC Heidenheim 1846 suffered their first defeat in four games after being narrowly beaten by Eintracht Braunschweig.
With both teams struggling to find their feet before the interval, good chances remained few and far between. The biggest opportunity fell Braunschweig's way just moments before half time, but Ken Reichel was unable to find the net from a good position.
Braunschweig started the second half promisingly and established a sustained period of pressure on the visitors. Only in the 77th minute were the Lions able to break the deadlock, however. Salim Khelifi turned brilliantly outside the area before lashing the ball home for the winner, to give Braunschweig a third victory in their last five games.
