Bochum - RB Leipzig narrowed the gap on VfL Bochum at the top of Bundesliga 2 with a 1-0 win at the Rewirpower-Stadion, where Bochum had been beaten only once this season.
League leaders coming into the game, Bochum knew they had an opportunity to put some daylight between themselves and a serious challenger for promotion this season, and they started with clear intentions. Leipzig nevertheless created the first big chance when Emil Forsberg's shot was turned behind, although it may have been wiser for him to pass to the unmarked Davie Selke with an open goal at his mercy.
Leipzig created many more chances, though, before taking the lead through Marcel Sabitzer 20 minutes into the second half. The guests then set up the barricades and withstood Bochum's pressure to come away with a win which lifts them to third.
