Düsseldorf - FSV Frankfurt avoided relegation to the third tier after winning 3-2 win at Fortuna Düsseldorf.

There was rapturous applause at kick-off for Andreas Lambertz, who was making his final appearance for Düsseldorf, with the club even retiring the No.17 shirt in his honour. FSV, though, were in no mood for pleasantries and took the lead through Edmond Kapllani inside 11 minutes. Quick-fire goals from Lukas Schmitz and Togolese striker Ihlas Bebou put Fortuna ahead, before Kapllani levelled from the penalty spot for 2-2.

Lambertz was denied a farewell goal by Frankfurt custodian Patric Klandt in a low-key second half, which only really sprang to life upon Lambertz's 86th-minute withdrawal. Zlatko Dedic had given the visitors the lead just three minutes earlier and that's how it stayed, as Tomas Oral enjoyed a winning start to his tenure as FSV head coach.
