Ingolstadt - FC Ingolstadt celebrated promotion to the Bundesliga for the first time in their history following a 2-1 win at home to RB Leipzig, a result that also confirmed them as 2014/15 Bundesliga 2 champions.

The hosts knew victory would guarantee them the league title and a place in the top flight next term, but their fans were made to sweat when Dominik Kaiser tapped in from close range to put Leipzig ahead from Yussuf Poulsen's cross.

Ralph Hasenhüttl’s men were level before the interval, however, as Mathew Leckie tucked home a penalty following Anthony Jung’s foul on Stefan Lex. In an end-to-end second half, the home side then sealed the win they needed when Lex fired in the decisive goal with 77 minutes played, sending the fans into raptures and booking a spot for Die Schanzer at Germany’s top table in 2015/16.
