Hamburg - Relegation-threatened FC St. Pauli landed a crucial and morale-boosting win by hammering VfL Bochum 5-1 on Matchday 33.

The hosts suffered a nightmare start when a mistake led to Michael Gregoritsch lashing in the opener for the visitors inside five minutes, but Ewald Lienen’s men responded excellently to go in at the break in front after goals from Lennart Thy and Marcel Halstenberg.

The victory was then effectively sewn up within seven minutes of the restart, as Christopher Buchtmann struck a fine solo goal and Thy side-footed home his second, with Waldemar Sobota bagging a late fifth. Pauli rise to 14th in the table but are not safe from the drop just yet, as they sit two points ahead of the relegation play-off spot with a game to play.
